This is a list of things not to miss, come the new year.
Rosenrot by none other than Rammstein looks like a winner. I have a very limited ability to review this since they have not sent me a CD, however it looks promising. The list price is $41, and I cannot figure out why this 14-track album is worth so much, but I am sure the reasons will become abundently obvious in the coming weeks. Then there's Gold Digger by none other than Kanye West and Jamie Foxx. I'm a bit skeptical of Jamie Foxx breaking into the music buisness, since he's such an idiot and all. But if history serves us, then these two singers seem to be a winning combination. The duo that turned 'Slow Jamz' into a club anthem have hooked up again for the brand new Gold Digger off the critically acclaimed Late Registration album. The single features 'Ray Charles' style guest vocals by award winning actor/singer Jamie Foxx. The title track is backed by 'Diamonds Are Forever' Remix, 'We Can Make It Better' and the MTV version of 'Gold Digger'. Def Jam. 2005.Mariah Carey just tied Elvis for most number 1 hit singles. Her latest single Don't Forget About Us is coming to stores in January. This is to be the third maxi signle taken from the Multi-platinum The Emancipation of Mimi album. It features three remixes of the title track, including the massive nine-and-a-half minute Dance Floor Anthem and the 'quentin Shelter Anthem Mix' which Clocks in at an impressive 12 minutes and 29 seconds. This single also includes an enchanced video clip of the title track.Lastly, I'll talk about an up-and-coming. The group Holocene is currently recording their anticipated first full length CD. as front man Steve Fonzo explains, "we are devoted to the continuation of the rock age." Holocene'a current line-up, from Harrisonburg, Virginia, includes the psychobilly and jazz-influenced Brian Schneider on bass and guitar, the punk and new wave styles of drummer Corey Arnold, and the classic rock guitar and studio abilities of Aric Bryant. The band, unsigned, records their own music and other musicians in its own studio, and has played shows in Virginia.
