Club Nation America: Johnny Vicious

Tall Paul was also listed as a DJ on this two volume spin-off, but Johnny Vicious is the one I truely admire. I saw him perform in Club Glow in DC several years ago, and it was phenominal. Though this CD is a more pop version of his club spinning, it still shows great control of the turn tables. East Coast DJ Johnny Vicious is handed the reins on the first disc, on which he delivers an unapologetically aggressive, pop-trance party classic featuring work from Delerium, Paul van Dyk, BT, and a few of his own self-produced groovers. The U.K.'s Tall Paul takes over on the second disc, using remixed Moby and Fatboy Slim, among others, to piece together an irresistible mix of fat, sticky beats. This time around Tall Paul and Johnny Vicious compile the hottest dance tracks of 2001. CD 1 (Vicious) mixes Paul Van Dyk, BT, Delerium, Surreal and more, 13 tracks in all. CD 2 (Tall Paul) mixes Moby, Fatboy Slim, Thrillseekers, Humate and more, 28 tracks in all.
