Music Is My Weapon: Nas "Be A Nigger Too

Nas "Be A Nigger Too" Lyrics

Turn your radios up
You are now allowed to listen to the radio
The real niggers are back, on the radio

No slacking, no begging, no asking, no fasting
No disrespect to Islam or Imam pastor
No answers to questions the media is asking
Why we fight each other in public in front of these arrogant fascists? They love it
Putting old niggers versus the youngest
Most of our elders failed us
How can they judge us, niggers?
There's verbal books published by niggers
Produced by niggers, genuine niggers
so I salute my, niggers
Not mad cuz Eminem said nigger
cuz he's my nigger, wigger, cracker friend
We all black within, okay
we all african, okay
Some africans don't like us? no way!
a killing happened in Johannesburg, yesterday
slain artist named Lucky Dube, hijacked
some saying N double-A-C-P
keep us side-tracked
But I don't buy that, I buy Aston Martins
faster cars then, Nas-a-Car's in
sparking while riding
critics, eat a dick
journalists see I'm rich
With this N-word jargon
I'm just starting, bitch
[Be A Nigger Too Explicit Lyrics on http://www.elyricsworld.com ]

I'm a nigger, he's a nigger, she's a nigger, we some niggers,
wouldn't you like to be a nigger too?
To all my kike niggas, spic niggers, Guinea niggers, chink niggers,
that's right, y'all my niggers too
I'm a nigger, he's a nigger, she's a nigger, we some niggers,
wouldn't you like to be a nigger too?
They like to strangle niggers, blaming niggers, shooting niggers, hanging niggers,
still you wanna be a nigger too?
True

Wake up in the morning, shake my third leg in the toilet
oozie on the night stand
I'm the man you go to war with
Not the man you go to war against
Patience, i'll get you if that means I can't sleep a whole year
I'mma get you, I'm official
Not a tisket or a tasket
I'll put you in the casket
With the biscuit or the ratchet
They smoke hibiscus ...
That plant shit trees
advance shit we
Don't forsake us, you all are fake blood like moviemakers
I flow tight as Toothie's braces
Who be hating us?
I'll be on a State bus
in shackles if my 8 bust
Cuz y'all some tellers, opposite of bankers
I'm the shit for ages
My click's still real QB gangsters
Click still moving like Freemasons
So if i'm in on the floor for the law
There's lodgers all across the nation
Nas is bred for the plan
To hold a grand dragon's head in my hand
Come and get me, here I am

I'm a nigger, he's a nigger, she's a nigger, we some niggers,
wouldn't you like to be a nigger too?
To all my kike niggas, spic niggers, guinea niggers, chink niggers,
that's right, y'all my niggers too
I'm a nigger, he's a nigger, she's a nigger, we some niggers,
wouldn't you like to be a nigger too?
They like to strangle niggers, blaming niggers, shooting niggers, hanging niggers,
still you wanna be a nigger too?

still you wanna be a nigger too?"

Actually, I think he DOES want you to identify with being a N... because the potential for being a martyr in the cause of being what makes society strong is a focal point in his song and the video.

I'm not sure if I buy the argument of changing the meaning of N, but I think he's taking ownership of all the word has and can represent and is trying to showcase that at the end of the day, it's unattractive yet coveted.

deep huh?

This song has deep meaning like most of Nas' songs. The way the song speaks to me is that no matter what color you are we all got a little N****r inside of us. Today the word is used too much by every race of people out there. Often times white suburban kids will cop a hip hop album and try to talk street cause artist is and they make an ass out of themselves. To me being a N****r isn't just being black, it's a life style. I'm sure Obama never considered himself a N****r, just a black man. It's sad to still see racism in the world today and this song helps put it into context that no matter what you look like we are all the same, N****rs!

oh man i like an respect it tupac an nas r da best ...thats right we all niggaz...i wanna add somthing obama will never be da comin Usa president it is a American film ( the woman and the black man ) but no one but macin ...respect fo all ma niggaz

We all niggaz we all share the same shit we all stugglin ...respect fo ma nigga nas ...tupac & nas r da best num.1 n da rap list....

Posted by: osama at June 17, 2008 6:00 PM

What is the message behind this song???? Better yet is there a message? That's why Nas is my favorite rapper, he makes you think....but I really wonder if there is some type of message he is tryin convey through this song, or is he just simply rapping.

If there is a message it's more obvious in the first verse, the second verse is Nas just be "Nasty Nas"

i'm trying to change the everday meaning of nigger. it is way overused as a bad word and im sick of all these fakes using it like that. hopefully the bad things associated with the word "nigger" will be phased out of society.

Crystal Castles is a Toronto-based band, described by Loud and Quiet as "the most exciting and original band in the world right now" [6] consisting of multi-instrumentalist Ethan Kath (of Jakarta and formerly Kill Cheerleader) and vocalist Alice Glass (of Fetus Fatale).[7] Crystal Castles are known not only for their own efforts as a band, but also for commissioned remixes for number of groups, including "Hunting for Witches" by Bloc Party, and "Atlantis to Interzone" by friends and label mates, Klaxons.

History

Crystal Castles, named after the Crystal Castle from the She-Ra franchise[9], formed in December 2003 as a project started by Ethan Kath. In April 2005, Alice Glass recorded vocals for five original instrumentals by Kath. The band's first single was recorded "accidentally": a microphone test by Glass was released through MySpace as "Alice Practice" in September 2005. Glass was not aware that it had been used until record companies heard the song and contacted the duo to offer them record deals.[10]

Since the release of "Alice Practice", the duo announced plans to release their first full-length album on Last Gang Records, which was released in North America on 18 March 2008 and released in the UK on 28 April 2008.[11]

Crystal Castles have toured Europe and the USA numerous times since 2006, including a US tour with Australian, electronic group, The Presets in February 2007.[12][13][14] The band also played at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in England, August 2007[15] and were set to play the CMJ Festival October 2007.[16][17][18][19] They supported Metric on certain dates throughout their North American tour in September and October 2007[20][21][22] and also headlined Vice Magazine's UK tour in November 2007 called Unitaur, which also featured These New Puritans and The Teenagers.[23]

Crystal Castles were also featured in the Channel 4 British Drama Skins (Series 2 Episode 3) performing as themselves playing "Alice Practice".

In mid-2008, Crystal Castles became focal in several plagiarism disputes. Pitchfork Media and The Torontoist published stories about Crystal Castles' use of Trevor Brown's artwork without permission. The image, depicting a black-eyed Madonna,[24][8] was used by the band on merchandise, after being found on an "old flyer, without credit", with the hope "that the artist might reveal themselves and make contact".[8] The band were also alleged to have plagiarised several songs from the demoscene community, including "Insecticon", which shares similarity with a song by Lo-bat called, "My Little Droid Needs a Hand", and were accused of "stealing the beat" from Covox's "Sunday", in the song "Love and Caring".

Musical style

Crystal Castles' music is easily recognized by their heavy use of samples and distorted female vocals. Crystal Castles claims to use a modified keyboard that uses an Atari 5200 sound chip [7] as an oscillator. Their musical style has been described as having "ferocious, asphyxiating sheets of warped two-dimensional Gameboy glitches and bruising drum bombast pierce [the] skull with sheer shrill force, burrowing deep into the brain like a fever".[29] Indie music review website, Pitchfork, gave a positive review of Crystal Castles' remix of "Leni" by GoodBooks, and described the style as "pitch-shifted vocal snippets [that] ricochet like pinballs around Crystal Castles' patented 8-bit synths".[30]
